THE resident of a retro house has shared the odd features in her mid-century modern kitchen.
The TikToker gave her followers a virtual tour of her Wisconsin home from the 50s.
In her video, TikTok user Alaina Rosenthal (@alainarosenthal) showed viewers the "odd features of an mid-century modern kitchen."
First, the TikToker panned her camera around the retro kitchen to show her audience the layout.
She then focused on the unique parts of the room, including a towel dryer.
Built into one of the kitchen cabinets was a small dryer complete with a temperature control dial and rods to hang your towels on.
Next, Alaina showed her followers the built-in blender attached to the kitchen counter.
She demonstrated how to use the appliance using the dial set in the countertop.
The item can be removed and replaced by other equipment including a juicer, a knife sharpener and a mini blender, also controlled by the dial.
Alaina also opened one of her overhead kitchen cabinets to reveal the mirror on the inside of the door.
Also built into one of the upper cabinets was a retro flour sifter, complete with a turning handle.
The appliance was attached to a shelf in the cabinet, where it could be stored neatly are slid out to place a bowl underneath.
In one of the lower cabinets, Alaina revealed a locked silver storage area.
The cabinet contained five drawers, lined and covered to protect the silverware.
For the next feature, she showed her followers the locked alcohol cabinet.
The drinks shelf pulled out to form a mini bar stocked with with whisky, vodka, rum, champagne, cider, and grenadine.
On the lower shelf, Alaina stored her cocktail mixers, shakers, and drainers.
Finally, she demonstrated how all the cabinet surfaces in the kitchen were also magnetic.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their love for the unique kitchen.
"Omg I want that kitchen! Why did they stop doing all these wonderful things for kitchens?" wrote one impressed viewer.
Another follower said: "You have struck gold my friend. Never change this home. [I'd] love a full tour."
"This is the most amazing thing, we have a mid century mid kitchen and it’s not nearly this badass despite being very similar," commented a third person.
On the other hand, some viewers were hesitant about the odd kitchen.
"I want the features but with a better design aesthetic," wrote one viewer.
Another follower pointed out: "OK but that's pretty cool. The mirror gives me patriarchy vibes but everything else is useful!!"
